Volvo have released 2 generations of the S40, both designed as compact executive cars. The newest second generation was listed by Forbes as on of the best luxury cars for young affluent drivers. The cars start at 1.6 Litre engines and have the honour of being the first car to recieve 4 stars on the Euro NCAP.

Volvo S40 D - great family car

The all-round performance of the is excellent. Being a diesel I expected it to be quite noisy but it is very quiet and smooth especially when cruising down the motorway.Plenty of space inside and a large boots so no problems with going away with the family for the weekend. And my wife just loves the heated seats.
