The Phaeton (Pronounced Fay-Ton) has been produced by Volkswagen as a full-sized Luxury Sedan since 2002. Top end Phaetons pump out 450 brake horsepower from a 6 Litre 12 Cylinder Engine, however 3.2L and 4.2L petrol engines are available, aswell as 3.0L and 5.0L turbo diesel engines. Its name like some other Volkswagen models was derived from a Myhtological Greek, Phaeton who was the son of Helios. The Phaeton was also a carriage used in the early 19th century.
