The Passat is a family car manufactured by Volkswagen since 1973. There has been six generations of the car released (MK1-6). It has also been known as the Dasha, Corsar, Carat, Magotan and Quantum. Engine sizes range from 1.4 Litre all the way upto a 3.6 Litre VR6 engine with either a 5 or 6 speed manual gearbox, or a 6 speed automatic.

VW Passat 2.0 TDI 140 Sport Estate, Quite simply, Brilliant

Had this car now for 4 months, and what a car! Comfortable sport seats, electronically controlled, economical, returning 50mpg on long drives. Great performance from its 2.0 TDI 140 bhp engine strapped to a 6 speed smooth gearbox. Superb handling, corners like a hot hatch that's half its size and weight. Will stop on a six pence!Good sized boot, large loading aperture, and a massive towing capability just makes this spacious, well built car a joy to own.
As with most cars, it has issues, struggles to start when warm, when engine has been turned off for five mins or so, the push button style key/ignition can be temperamental in accepting the key, Auto lights, brilliant. Lights not so good!
All in all, a fantastic family estate car.
