Skoda is an Automobile Manufacturer which was founded in the Czech Republic in 1895. For many years, Skoda was seen as something of a laughing stock in Western Europe, but that started to change when VW took a 30 per cent stake in 1991. Continuing to raise its stake, VW took full control in 2000. Since then, Skoda has become a true success story, with models like the Octavia, Fabia and Superb helping to complete a dramatic turn-around in fortunes to make the company a serious player in the car market. In 1991, it became part of the Volkswagen Group. Previously, Skoda had been The reasonably successful car manufacturer, which profited almost $1 Billion in 2008, produces a small range of cars including the Skoda Octavia which is most commonly known to be used as an unmarked police vehicle in the United Kingdom.
