Jaguar Cars Ltd. was founded in 1922 by Sir William Lyons, although the actual Jaguar name wasn't introduced until 1945 - with the company initially known as the Swallow Sidecar Company. Over the years, Jaguar has had many owners, with parent company Jaguar Land Rover now under the control of the Indian company Tata.
