Spacious but cool

A spacious car with big windows which is great for the view. You can pack the kids in with ease and lots of luggage to boot! The seats are removable which leaves you loads of space, if you need to move large items.
Downside is it doesnt exactly look very flash and the heater is soo poor. In winter if you activate the heater onto your feet, it blows very little heat and your tootsies are left freezing!

My eyes!
3/5

Having suffered an unfortunate incident with my own car, I 'inherited' a Xsara Picasso from my father while a rather messy insurance claim was sorted out.

To be fair, the actual car itself wasn't that bad - or not as bad as I expected it to be given past experiences of French cars which were shockingly unreliable. In the time I ran it, there was nothing untoward went wrong with the car aside from a small electrical glitch which was easily fixed at my local indy garage.

Fuel economy was okay, although that was probably down to the fact that the 1.6 engine wasn't designed to go at any great speed.

However, one thing I can't score the car well for is its looks. I think the Xsara Picasso is a car that you either love or hate - and sadly the appearance does nothing for me. With a bigger engine than the 1.6 I don't doubt it could be a decent family car but I don't think I could part with my cash for a car that I really don't like to look at.

Saying that, my time with the Picasso did open my eyes to Citroen cars and the new DS5 is a model that I'm very interested in when it is launched - whereas previously I wouldn't have even thought to look at a Citroen because of my preconceived view on French cars. So I guess it isn't all bad!

Built for comfort not speed

This car is like me built for comfort not speed, though it holds its own on the motorways, I own the 2.0l sx hdi model and love it, heaps of space for kids luggage and dogs, comfy captain seat great for long runs and economy by the boatload a 600 mile round trip for less than 80quid at today's prices got to be good value would recommend to anyone.
