Love my car!

Have a 330d M-Sport Touring and love everything about it. No downside as yet! Feel like the dog's b******s when I drive it - so powerful, very comfortable and surprisingly economical on diesel. Average 32-46 mpg which is excellent in my book for a 3L.

Best Diesel I have ever driven

My recently purchased BMW 335D Mtec is the best diesel car I have ever driven and believe me I have driven a few. It has better performance figures than the E46 M3 and returning 36mpg. Masses amount of torque.

BMW 335d - Twin turbo diesel a go-go
5/5
2007 (07)
I have owned 3-series BMWs since 2000 - a 318i, a couple of 330d's and now the 335d.

The 335d is monster powerful compared to its predecessors but the interior build quality compared to the previous model is a bit disappointing, things seem to be a bit more plastic and a bit more lightweight. Maybe this is the result of having to carry ever more safety gear to meet EuroNCAP standards but keep the weight of the car down.

The driving experience is superb, responsive engine, direct accurate steering with the novelty paddle gear shift when driving for fun and leisurely and relaxed on the long distance plods around the country.

Surprisingly, the fuel consumption is better than the 330ds even though the car claims 270bhp. On motorway runs, 45mpg is not unusual. For the day to day driving it's more like 35.

The gadgets all work well although BMW really should invest in the UK postcode database license. £2k of Sat Nav extra that can only do street name routing is a bit embarrassing when there are iPhone apps that'll do it for free. I understand that the later model iDrive allows the user to send a search from Google to the car which will appease the geek in me when I change it out in a couple of years.

The car has been very reliable. One small issue with turbo valves which was rectified under the extended warranty that I've maintained. I'm a big fan of BMW's pre-priced service plans. Our local dealership in Hook provide exemplary service. I just need to find a place that sells Michelin 18" run flats for less than a King's Ransom.
